United Dragons is a fun-driven and holistic football club which aims to provide all our members with the opportunity to develop not only as footballers but also as individuals.
With 13 years of success in London and over 500 members we are thrilled to announce we will be bringing United Dragons to St Albans.
We believe that using age appropriate and engaging weekly training sessions, enables all players to enjoy playing football whilst being able to socialise, grow in confidence and broaden their technical and tactical understanding.
At United Dragons, we like to think we are more than just another youth team, but rather a club where you can make new friends and most importantly, have fun.
OUR PROGRAM
THE UD WAY
The UD way is certainly a unique one. We take enormous pride in delivering the best and most detailed football coaching offering in North London & St Albans.
At UD our aim isn’t to simply develop the children as footballers, but we also focus on developing each child in a more holistic manner. That’s why at UD we embed our core principles and values within each session and encourage all our children to be unique, strive for development, ambitious and creative in everything they do.
Little Dragons
2-3 Years
The Little Dragons are our entry point into the club and an area we take immense pride in. Coaching 2-3 year olds is a challenge we all love at UD and with each session we ensure the practices are age specific, fun, relatable and engaging. We take topics the children can relate to and turn them into fun football drills which aim at increasing the children’s motor skills, balance, coordination whilst promoting the fundamentals of football.
Foundation
4-13 Years
The Foundation years are for our boys and girls aged 4-13. Within these age groups the children will learn a variety of football skills and techniques. With each year the children progress within the club, the technical and tactical challenges increase. We ensure our sessions all incorporate the FA 4 corner model, meaning within each session we have a focus not only on the children’s technique, but also the physical, social and psychological aspects of football. Our UD foundation players have the opportunity to train every week with our highly skilled coaches who are passionate about developing each child to their full potential.
UD Girls
5-13 Years
With the success of our UD girls programme in London, we look forward to extending this to the St Albans community!
Our London UD Girls boast over 80 players training and competing every week.
We understand that playing football can be a daunting prospect for a new child, however we aim to break down barriers, instil confidence and create and environment where each girl can thrive when playing football. Our dedicated coaches focus on the technical and tactical aspects of football, whilst ensuring the physical and psychological needs are met.
UD League Teams
At UD we love to see our training days turn to match practice. Whilst it is always a great feeling to win games, we place emphasis on developing each player. Therefore, each child who plays for UD will get plenty of game time opportunity.
Our League age teams (U7s upwards) are entered into the Watford Friendly League. We also schedule frequent friendly games with local clubs as well as inter house matches with our UD London teams.
